So on Saturday a few of us went to a new place to ride outside of Greencastle. It's a great place to ride - trails, mud, hillclimbs, MX track - any type of riding you want to do. I had a nice long talk with the owner while we were there as well. Here is the deal:
1) He does NOT want any information about the place posted on the internet. He knows that there are a few of us in the club that will potentially ride there and that is fine. He does not want directions/exit information posted because it would go from a small local spot into a large spot that would get out of control. What that means is that if you want to check it out, you will need to come with us sometime to find out how to get there.
2) Riding is only for bikes, quads, side-by-sides, Argos, and Golf Carts (no full sized vehicles). It's his ground - it's his rules.
3) He would like everyone to carry liability insurance on their quad. He does not check this and we all hope you will not need it: but if something happens everyone is responsible for themselves. If you do not have insurance you ride at your own risk and if anything happens it is your responsibility.
4) In the future a donation box may be placed on the property - use it.
5) Please pick up trash that you see. Of course - don't litter.
6) When the pond is starting to freeze: stay off it until it is frozen. Everyone likes to play on it but they want the ice to get thick so that everyone can play on it longer.
7) No deep tread on your tires. He is referring to the 2-3" thick tread on Mud Terrain tires.
8) If there is a bridge over water: use it.
9) If there is any equipment there working when you arrive: don't ride that day. Sometimes there is backhoes/dump trucks there doing some excavating.
10) Stay out of the fields and DON'T ride on the trails that pass the fences. Some of the trails cross into his neighbors property which HE is allowed to ride on, but nobody else.
11) It's HIS ground - HIS rules. He can tell you to leave at anytime. Please keep in mind that "Limitless Offroad" is a group of us. If he sees one of our members doing something they should not he can tell ALL of us that we are not allowed to ride there.
On a side note:
The last time we got together to ride at Pine Hill someone from PAAtving asked me for some information about the place and wanted to come - ended up not being able to make it. That person, is the owner of this ground. He love riding and loves the sport. He knows about the lack of riding spots which is why he is allowing responsible riders to use his ground. Lets not mess this up for anyone else!
If you have any questions just let me know!
(No, I didn't get any pictures of the weekend - I forgot my camera)
