there is a possibility the m715 will be up for sale here soon. i am checking out a new toy tomorrow, and if i go through with it, i'd have to sell something from my "collection"
the good: motor turns over, trans shifts, brakes work
the bad: no fuel getting to the motor (i do have a new pump for it though), body needs some work (nothing major, just some new sheet welded in) and it is not currently titled in pa (i have the deleware title, but it's a non-notary state... never got around to making it a PA title, but it can be done)
i'd be selling the truck for $1000 (what i paid for it) plus $150 for the new batteries and $50 for the new fuel pump.
$1200 and she's all yours. i hate to sell it, but this new toy is just too good a deal to pass up and will actually help the business out more than the truck would.
i figure i'd give LO members 1st dibs.

I can vouch for the motor. There is compression and turns over with the starter. With the new fuel pump installed you might be able to drive it! If I didn't have so many toys I would consider it for a b-it-c-h-in offroad toy.

that would make a nice addition but I do not have the money. looking at it it could be a heck of a mud bog truck or rock crawler.

It's already geared for it and it won't need any lift. I would take the bed off and put a flat deck on it. it's got a granny gear on it that would make it crawl over just about anything.

a buddy of mine is interested to use it as a bog truck. I need specifics on the vehicle. what kinda motor tires axles and pictures if ya can. also maybe were to see it in person. he has been looking for something to build into a truck that aint gonna break easy. here is my lil jeep 1970 cj-5 f-head 4banger still in stock form. less then 50,000 miles on the whole jeep.

it has a 230 CI OHV/HEMI straight six with a single barrel carb on it... but you can easily bolt in a chevy 305/350/454 v8 - it's been done... i can your buddy all the specs on the swap if he wants to go that route trans is a 4-speed manual with 1st gear being a granny gear... she won't go fast, but she'll tow a house axles are dana 60 in the front and a dana 70 in the rear. truck is rated at 5/4 ton, again, it was a military truck that was made to take a beating and keep coming back for more. only real weak point is the divorced tranfercase. any pro-longed running in 4wd tends to heat up the case pretty bad. gearing in the truck is just so low that the case just gets wound up. you could easily swap in a t-case from a "modern" jeep (ie a dana 300 from a FSJ or CJ) and be good to go. also, it is a 24v truck... but if he is looking to strip it down, swap motors and stuff, you could easily wire it up to be 12v... all the lights and stuff will just need new bulbs and you're good to go. truck is in shippensburg, so if/when he wants to look at it i'll be here. oh yeah... you can run 36" tires with NO lift... and with a spring over in the front and a shackle flip in the rear you can clear 42" tires with the stock springs ;-) photo:
