I have a christmas party for work the night before so I might be feeling a bit from a bit too many the night before. but I should be good by then. anyone want to hook up and go for a run? not plannin on doing anything major unless someone wants to do graves ridge or rocky pass. it does not matter which parking area. let me know.

I would be up for riding graves ridge. last time I was not really sure about it. pretty ruff. I got some more experience under my belt so I might be better. if it has snow on it I am not sure if I would want to run that though. it is hard enough without snow let alone with slick rocks. I am plannin on getting to the parking lot at bendersville road around 2. ride till 4 then start heading back to the truck via the winter road acess. I am not sure on how tuff they are about getting off the trails. it gets dark around 5 now a days. rocky pass is a easier black trail on michaux that I do not think gets much attention.

lookin like snow ice for sunday. so I doubt anything technical will be done. looking like heading down the road that is only open for winter to the fsr end and then hit the blue trails to the south of it. they are pretty much the only ones I have not done on the system. might pick up the two or so others that have elluded me. I am still plannin on leaving the parking lot at 2 on sunday. anyone is welcome to come along but I am no speed demon.

Did anyone ride out there last weekend? I will probably be out there a few times this winter since we have a cabin close by. The open service road in the winter is great, especially if you have a sport quad like me.
btw-I ride a YFZ450 Bill Ballance edition, so if you see me out feel free to stop me and say hi...especially since I'm usually riding alone.

I'm guessing most of you ride utes since you'll be hitting up graves ridge?
I did it once, by accident, on a Warrior.

I was there on sunday afternoon put on 30 somethin miles. sure was cold around the neck area. I was thinking bout goin up on sunday but might not if it is goin to be like they are saying. I ride a honda rincon. I would not even imagine a sport on graves ridge. I would have like to run graves ridge but being all by my lonesome I did not want to chance it. if someone wants to go this sunday I would be up for it. I have been on every trail now that the system has to offer. I still feel they should have done better trail matienence then they did. the little bit of work was equivelent to one day of work on a dozer. now there is not only rocks on the red triail but big boulders that even my rincon whould not be able to straddle. let me know then by saturday or friday if anyone wants to go. doesn't matter where ya want to ride in the system I will go.

I was out and rode Michaux today. Just did the easy (fast) stuff, out and back. It was fun riding in virgin snow, fish tailing and power sliding. Sun came out, blue skies, ice and snow hanging on trees made it really nice. Snow depth was 0" (wet spots) to about 2 inches on mtn top. I"ll be back riding my own trails soon if some of you locals want to try my trails in Path Valley, let me know. 4x4 needed.

Vinny - Bill means you need to have a 4x4 for his ground.
For Michaux and GC you can have anything to ride.

wildbill-What's the 4x4 requirement for, is your spot similar to Grave's Ridge terrain?
I might be out Sunday if I can get my quad back together (mod week). If the kids come along we will only be on the service road since they only have their little chinese jobbies still.

Re: 4x4 requirement. Actually, it's just a personal thing with me. Some of my trails are within hearing of my neighbors, and I find that most (but not all) 4x4s are quieter. And I must admit that, even though I love to ride, I don't like a lot of noise around me. Also, from my own riding experience, I find that 4x4s are not as likely to start erosion problems as quickly as dirt bikes and sport quads. I do have some short, rocky technical sections, but none as difficult as Grave Ridge. I understand the feelings of those having sport bikes when I say "4x4s only". It would be like me being told that I am not invited to ride because 4x4s are not welcome. However, I would respect their views simply because they own the land, and use it as they see fit. Hopefully, those with sport bikes will understand my position. Sometime after the holidaze I'll be getting in touch with those of you who have indicated and interest in riding in Path Valley. wb
