so... since i am completely gutting the factory wiring and starting from scratch, i am trying to make a list of stuff that will get power, what will be switched and what will get relayed. so far this is what i got: - main power cut off
- dual battery control
- battery charge system
- main switch system:
- ignition (push button)
- electric fan: main (on/off) - will also control aux fans for oil coolers
- electric fan: control (auto/low/high)
- winch: main (on/off)
- winch: control (in/out)
- lights main
- running lights
- ground lights
- 55 watt driving lights (front)
- 55 watt driving lights (rear)
- 100 watt flood lights
- 100 watt long-range lights
- on board air
- 12v aux plug(s)
- 115v inverter
- starter
- horn
- wipers
- turn signals
that's pretty much all i got so far... some of that is subjec to change. i just know i am leaving nuts out. i want to keep it as simple as possible, but i also want to keep it as functional as possible too

Sounds good so far Dean, I'm thinking of getting one of my stepdads 351 w and putting in the jeep. Of course I will be gutting that and rewiring everything. I'm going to incorporate the dash into the cage and make all custom aluminum panels with auto meter guages. Basically the same plan you have, easy and very functional.

yeah... we'll see. painless has some nice kits... but i have a feeling i'll end up scratch building my own wiring since there is a lot of stuff i won't need that a regular rig would have... but then again, a pre-wired fuse box may not be a bad idea to start with as a foundation. who cares if i leave the "fuel pump" fuse empty
