update - 2008.05.02
pretty much have the passenger side fender-well cleaned out... removed the following:
it's looking good so far. hope to work on the driver-side next. want to get all the ABS stuff out of there. probably just drop down to a standard break booster.
thinking about keeping the windshield washer system, but i doubt i'll reuse the factory setup, so that will get axed as well
basically philosophy is the less under the hood, the better... with a carbed 4.2 running propane i won't need much.
for now i am going to keep the standard steering setup and leave the stock steering box. most likely will run a CJ p/s pump though... i doubt the ZJ one will work on a 4.2 motor... but then again, who knows.
once i sell the spare motor, i will be able to roll the body out into the driveway and hose the d**n thing off. hoping then to shift the tear down to the inside and start removing the seats, dash, and other interior stuff.
just need to work on getting the engine/trans/tcase out... and then start work deconstructing the 4.2 block and get it off to the shop to get cleaned up, tested, bored over and honed. need to get some work done to the head as well.
at least the monkey work is free... just need a f*cking job so i can pay for some of the "upgrades" i want to run
update - 2008.05.05
did some more emptying out of the engine bay
removed:
also did some work inside and pulled out most of the dash pieces. need to get the radio and VIC out next... then work on the upper dash pad, lower dash pad and pray i don't somehow set off the air bags. lol. they don't have any power, so i hope they won't fire.
want to work on the seats next and carpet... and work on figuring out how to get the hatch off - i think i'll need help with that
update - 2008.05.14
took out the ABS unit and brake master clynider... dropped out the sway bar... and removed a few other bolts and brackets from the old brush guard.
and about 10 lbs of dirt
