I am looking for a complete drive train for my 89 cherokee. I would prefer to find a wrecked one and just swap the 4.0, aw4 and np231 over though. I also need a 2 front drive shafts and a dana 30 front axle. let me know what you come up with.
Thanks fastest response would be to email me at texinteg@yahoo.com

Dean has a drivetrain for a older CJ7. It's got a 4.2block that I know of, but not sure what else it has. We also have a 30? front axle off a Grand that needs a new axle tube (that is right - just the tube). In this pic you can see that the shafts are good still.

That is what I was thinking too - but figured I would post what I know we have. There is a Chevy 305 motor also for sale ($50) - but I understand about wanting to stick with the 4.0. I was thinking about swaping to the 305 or a ford 302 - my 4.0 needs some TLC and some valve work (Jeep has 209,000miles) I would be willing to let you have that in exchange for help. It's still in the jeep right now, but you can have it once it's pulled. Let me know what you think about that.

Well if I was keeping the 89 2wd I would just throw in the 350 and 700r4 along with the 9 inch I have sitting in the garage. I love my 9 in. I bought it for 25 dollars and found out it has a nice posi and 4.88 gears.
