so now that it's warmer i can actually go work in the garage and no freeze my balls off. spent a good 1/2 hour looking at the tan jeep and deciding what i am going to do with it.
regardless of what i do to it, i need to finish tearing it down. engine, trans and t-case have to come out... and might as well rip the carpet out since it's discusting.
the new motor and trans will be a direct swap... and i have a 231 tcase i want to put it, but i think it'll need some work before i can install it.
anyone willing to help is more than welcome. i need it since i've never swapped a motor as complex as this (the CJ was hellishly easy)

There's nothing to it, I can give you a hand just let me know when you need help. Just make sure you label everything you can as far as bolts etc, so it is much easier, quicker, and organized when installing your new motor.

yeah, it was so late when i left the wrenching party the only three things i could think of were nutsting, showering and sleeping.
i'll try and get yours from you at some point. i'll be passing by on friday... or maybe on sunday after the trail ride i'll follow you home and get it then.

we usually meet at exit 80 of I-81 at 0800 at the luk oil station... so you can just meet us there.

You could use a number of decent ford transfers.You just have to change the tailshaft. My neighbor has plenty of good ones.

I have a cherry picker and.......a lovely Ford 460 and C6 that would look cool in the 'ol girl. I already offered dean a 460, no tranny though. I had 2 of them layin in the garage for the longest time. I think he's afraid of it, he knows he's too heavy on the skinny pedal
